In many applications it is possible to use ball screws manufactured using a special rolling process which gives acceptable accuracy at moderate costs.

During the raw material plastic deformation process a considerable increase in hardness, traction and fatigue resistance is determined by the retightening and lengthening of grains in the direction of the deforming forces.

Roughness of these surfaces is inferior to that obtained using any cutting process. Screws are manufactured with hardened and tempered steel (hardness rating 58-62 HRC). Nuts are made out of casehardening steel which is subsequently casehardened, tempered and ground.

The main characteristics of the ball screws in our production range are given below:

A vast range of screws and nuts is available at our warehouse ready for shipment.

As these are sold separately we are unable to guarantee a play of less than 0.10 mm for diameters ranging from 14 to 25 or less than 0.17 mm for diameters ranging from 25 to 63 (RUD-RU-SC-FC nuts).

These screws have been individually pitch tested and comply with ISO C7 precision standards (±0.05 mm/300mm) (RUD-RU-SC-FC nuts).

These have less axial play than those sold separately from the nuts, with values ranging from 0.005 mm to 0.010 mm via careful ball selection.

These screws have the same characteristics as ground screws but cost much less.

These can also be fitted with preloaded nuts (RUD-RU-SC-FC-DF-SFP nuts).
