The BB workshop produces rolled screws ranging in length from 3 m to 6 m and various types of standard nut (see dimensional tables) so as to meet every possible customer need: BB also guarantees warehouse availability of both screws and nuts and fast delivery times.

The extremity may be machined by the customer or, if required, by BB.

In order to prevent errors which might compromise proper screw performance it is good practice to observe the following work cycle:

  • Cut to desired length

  • Tempering of the part to be worked

  • Facing and alignment from both sides

  • Straightening on the tailstock

  • Lathe roughing

  • Accurate straightening on the tailstock

  • Lathe finishing (metric screw threads, head holes Milling (splines, flat surfaces etc.)

  • Grinding

  • Accurate tapering of thread on both sides

  • Assembly of nut (see Use and Maintenance).
