Lubrication |

R ecirculating balls screws can be lubricated with both oil and grease. When choosing one or the other it is important to evaluate the following comparative characteristics of each system. |
Oil lubrication
Lubrication must be carried out more frequently; therefore a lubrication system will be required on continuous operation applications.
Lubricants to be used are generally the same as those used to lubricate the bearings.
Grease lubrication
High speeds cause a substantial increase in working temperature.
Lubrication required less frequently and therefore lubricating systems may not need to be installed.
Grease can be used on bearings provided it is of adequate consistency.

Lubricant can be introduced via the special holes on the nut. The table below shows the approximate lubricant viscosity values to be adopted according to relevant operating conditions. |
